Communication student seeks reporting job

        A Gorge Mason University communication student is extremely knowledgeable of cultural values and traditions. She is Eager to work with challenging people of diverse cultural backgrounds. She learned from her parents about middle-eastern culture and since she grew up in Russia learned about western culture as well.

“I can speak English, Russian, Urdu, Persian, Hindi, Pashto and Dari, I think it’s very fun and useful to know seven languages and know about deferent cultures,” Orokzai said.

Maryam Orokzai is originally from Afghanistan, but was raised in Moscow. Orokzai Along with her family moved to the USA a few years ago, and enrolled in NOVA right after her graduation from high school.

Orokzai successfully got associate degree in Science/General Studies in 2012. Currently she is enrolled in Mason and this is her first semester. Orokzai is planning to major in Communication at Mason and graduate by the end of 2015.

Orokzai’s dream job is to work for CNN and be a successful reporter. She loves to travel around the world and talk about women rights. Orokzai is able to work alone or as a part of team. She enjoys to organize different tasks as needed and eager to learn new things.

Orokzai’s education, diverse work experience, international exposure, and ambitious drive to learn and succeed are a unique blend of qualifications. She is able to work alone or as a part of team.

“I chose my path and I will get succeed one day, and will never lose hope. I always work hard to achieve what I want in my life,” Orokzai said.
